FELTON, Del.- A man has been arrested for assaulting police officers along with other charges in Felton.

Felton Police say they got a call for a reported domestic assault at a home on E. Sewell Street around 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Officers say the victim told them that 38-year-old Lamont Jiggetts of Minneapolis, Minnesota, punched them in the face and tried to throw hot cooking grease on them. Jiggetts also reportedly stole the victim's phone so they could not call 911, according to police.

Investigators say that when the man returned to the home, he was confronted by officers and refused to get out of his car.

Authorities say they helped him get out of the car and he became combative and resisted arrest. He allegedly head-butted an officer and spat on three others while resisting.

Further investigation led officers to find that Jiggetts was wanted out of Pennsylvania on several charges.

He was charged with:

  • Resisting Arrest with force or violence
  • Offensive touching of a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Offensive Touching of Another with Saliva (x2)
  • Theft Under $1,500
  • Failure to Comply with Taking of Photos and Fingerprints
  • Malicious Interference with Emergency Communications
  • Numerous Traffic Related Charges

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute where Justice of the Peace Court arraigned him and is currently awaiting extradition to PA.
