Milton Man Arrested After Shooting Outside Felton Sports Bar

FELTON, Del. - Troopers arrested 66-year-old Terry Bratton, of Milton, on felony assault charges.

Delaware State Police say on Jan. 7, around 1:32 a.m., a shooting occurred in the parking lot of Green Stinger Sports Bar on South Dupont Highway.

Troopers say Bratton got into an argument with others in the bar as it was closing, and continued to argue in the parking lot. Authorities say Bratton then pulled out a gun and shot the victim, a 28-year-old man from Lincoln.

Troopers reportedly arrived and found Bratton in the parking lot armed with a gun and took him into custody without incident. The victim was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound to the arm.

Bratton was transported to Troop 3 where he was charged with the following crimes:

  • Assault 1st Degree (Felony)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)
  • Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony) – 6 counts
  • Terroristic Threatening – 4 counts
  • Possession of a Firearm While Under the Influence

Bratton was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $161,000 secured bond.
