DOVER, DE - A New York man was arrested following a road rage incident that occurred in Kent County on Friday. 

On Friday, April 18th, at approximately 3:49pm, troopers from the Delaware State Police responded to a Wawa on Jimmy Drive, in Smyrna for the report of a road rage incident involving a firearm. 

DSP troopers learned that the victim was involved in a road rage incident on Route 1, just north of the Dover Toll Plaza, with a white GMC pickup truck. During the incident, the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Donald Renfer of Chittenango, New York, allegedly displayed a firearm and threw a bottle at the victim's vehicle. Renfer then drove northbound on Route 1. 

Shortly after the incident, the victim arrived at the Wawa location, and saw the GMC truck at the gas pumps. 

According to DSP, troopers made contact with Renfer and took him into custody. A search of his vehicle found a "loaded black handgun, and additional magazines in the vehicle". Troopers also learned that two children were in his vehicle during the incident.

Donald Renfer was taken into custody, charged with the following and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $24,750 secured bond.

- Aggravated Menacing (Felony) – 3 counts

- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony)

- Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 2 counts

- Littering

- Failure when Moving Right, Left, or Turning to Signal Continuously
