SEAFORD, DE - The Seaford Police Department has confirmed a 16-year-old was involved in a pedestrian crash this morning and flown to a local hospital for serious injuries.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Virginia Ave and Bridgeville Highway Thursday morning just after 7 a.m., according to police. 

Police tell WBOC that the teen suffered significant injuries and was taken by Delaware State Police Troop 2 to a local hospital. The victim is stable at this time, according to the Seaford Police Department.

The 26-year-old driver, from Bridgeville, was reportedly uninjured and cited for Inattentive Driving and Failing to Yield the Right of Way to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.

 As of 7:30 a.m., the Seaford Police Department announced on Facebook that the roadway was reopened at Bridgeville Highway and Virginia Ave.
