QUEENE ANNE, MD - The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a 33-year-old Queen Anne man stemming from an assault investigation.
According to police, on Friday, December 22nd, investigators were called to the University of Maryland Emergency Center on reports of an assault victim. There, the victim told police they had been assaulted on two separate occasions in September and October of this year. The victim said the first occurred on Cannery Road in Queen Anne, when the suspect allegedly grabbed the victim after she caught him performing a sex act while watching her in the bathroom.
The second incident, according to police, also occurred on Cannery Road in October when the suspect reportedly accosted her and another person with a pistol.
On December 22nd, police identified Travis Lynch, 33, of Queen Anne as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant. Authorities say they stopped Lynch in a car as he was leaving a residence on Cannery Road. He was taken to the Talbot County Detention Center without bond.
Further investigation of Lynch’s home revealed pistol ammunition, and a search of his car uncovered the pistol hidden under a trim panel in the front seat passenger area, according to police. Police say Lynch is a convicted felon and is therefore prohibited from owning a gun.
Lynch has been charged with the following:
-Two counts first degree assault
-Three counts of second degree assault
-Two counts of reckless endangerment
