Car Crashes into Long Neck Home, Bursts into Flames

LONG NECK, Del.- A car accident turned into a house fire in Long Neck Tuesday afternoon. According to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, around 1:45 p.m., driver on Route 24 lost control, veered off the road and hit an adjacent home. IRVFC says the car burst into flames, igniting the house as well. The fire company says the car had significant front end damage from hitting the house, which could have sparked the fire. The fire company says the driver was taken to the hospital. One person was in the house and got out safely. Multiple fire companies including Lewes and Millsboro also responded to the scene. Both the Delaware State Police and Delaware State Fire Marshal's office are investigating.
