DSP Identify Man Accused of Shooting Milford Officer

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Delaware State Troopers are releasing the identity of a man they say shot a Milford officer in  Rehoboth Beach on Thursday night.

Police say 37-year-old Evelio Rivera from Reading, Pennsylvania shot Sr. Cpl. Timothy Webb as Webb was issuing a warrant for Rivera's arrest in the EconoLodge parking lot. Police say Rivera was wanted for attempted murder and Officer Webb was working with the First State Violent Fugitive Taskforce.

Rivera was shot and killed on the scene. Officer Webb is recovering at Christiana Hospital. Community groups are providing support and assistance to the Webb family.
