LEWES, Del.- A library kiosk is causing controversy in one Lewes development.
The Villages of Five Points says the library installed the kiosk illegally. The library is now being fined $6,000.
Five Points says that land was donated to the library for a different purpose and it fears that if the kiosk stays, the library could keep and sell the property.
"From what I understand from the history of how it was dedicated to the library for a facility, and then right when it's going to go back to the homeowners association, they put a pad down with a little kiosk there? I don't think that was the intent," Ginny Gritmon of Lewes said.
The library's board director declined to comment, but said the library hoped for an "amicable conclusion" to the situation in Lewes.
