MILLSBORO, Del.- A 26-year-old Millsboro man is behind bars following accusations that he threatened his parents with a rifle.
Police said that at around 4 p.m. Monday, June 15, troopers responded to a domestic complaint at a home located in the 34000 block of Lynch Road in Millsboro.
Upon arrival, troopers met with Marvel E. Shockley Jr.'s mother and father who reported that they got into an argument with their son while they were outside. According to police, the argument led to Shockley pulling out a rifle from his girlfriend’s vehicle and loading it with bullets. Shockley was holding the loaded firearm in his hands while walking around outside and threatening to blow up the house, according to police. Shockley's parents were able to return inside their home unharmed.
Shockley was taken into custody at the home without incident. He was transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Two counts of felony aggravated menacing
- Two counts of terroristic threatening
Shockley was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,500 secured bond.
