Rehoboth Considers Adding Cameras, Emergency Lane to Boardwalk

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- After the sweeping order to close all Delaware beaches made by Gov.  John Carney, local officials are taking it one step further in an effort to curb the spread of COV-19.

In Carney's order there is a provision for local authorities to enact stricter provisions to fight COVID-19 if they see fit.

Rehoboth Beach city officials announced via a release Saturday that they will also be closing their boardwalk as well as the public bathrooms, and police will enforce the new restrictions.

This comes after images and videos were shown of people flocking to the Delaware beaches ignoring the CDC's recommendation of social distancing.
