EASTON, Md. - The Four Sisters Kabob and Curry food truck in Easton is a popular destination for those who want to expand their pallet.
Earlier this week, the truck was the target of vandals rather than curious customers. Shahida Perveen Khan, who owns the food truck, says this is not the first time the truck has been a target of theft or vandalism. Shahida says at first, her water pump was stolen which cost her $700 to replace. Then, her tip jar was stolen.
"People give me the tip, I collect it for a few days and then I send it in my country for someone [who] needs it like a donation. And they took my tip jar, the four, five-hundred dollars. Then they broke my window.. It's big for me, just being a single mom," Shahida says through tears.
The Four Sisters has a stream of frequent customers, such as Evan Kruger who says, "I probably eat four times, probably five times a week here."
In the wake of the vandalism, one of those frequent customers, Paul Scuderi, created a GoFundMe page for the family. As of Friday, $4,917 has been raised.
Shahida says her family may not be rich when it comes to money, but they're rich where it counts; having a loving community that supports them in times of distress.
