Salisbury Dentist Charged With Insurance Fraud

SALISBURY, Md.- A Salisbury dentist is facing multiple charges of insurance fraud following a long-term criminal investigation. 

On Tuesday, Oct. 5, Stewart Perim, DDS, was served with those charges along with a summons commanding him to appear in Wicomico County District Court.

According to the Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office, from 2013 through 2021, Perim fraudulently billed patients and their dental insurance companies for services not rendered. 

The charges against Perim stem from a lengthy investigation conducted by the Maryland State Police–Criminal Enforcement Division, the Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners and Wicomico County State's Attorney's Office, with technical assistance from the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland and the National Insurance Crime Bureau.

Perim owns and operates his dental practice, Peninsula Total Dental Care Center, located at 1505 S. Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury. On Tuesday, investigators executed a search and seizure warrant at Peninsula Total Dental Care Center.

The Maryland State Board of Dental Examiners is the administrative agency charged with the licensing, regulation and sanctioning those who practice dentistry in the State of Maryland.
