CORDOVA, Md.- Authorities say a malfunctioning space heater is to blame for a fire that heavily damaged a home in Talbot County.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said it happened at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, at a one-story home located at 11774 Blades Road in Cordova.
It took the Cordova Volunteer Fire Company approximately 40 minutes to get the blaze under control.
The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in damage to the home and its contents. There were no reported injuries.
Deputy state fire marshal's ruled the fire accidental and said it started inside a bedroom.
