MPD Ribbon Cutting - 1

MILFORD, DE - The City of Milford has announced the ribbon cutting ceremony and open house event for their new Police Department.

The City invites the public to join for the ribbon cutting at the new location at 401 NE Front St., as well as for guided tours, on Tuesday, December 12th at 10 a.m. Additional Public Open Houses are planned for Wednesday, December 13 from 1 to 5 p.m., and Thursday, December 14th, from 4 to 8 p.m.

“In today's climate of negativity that surrounds law enforcement, it is important to show police officers that we care and recognize the daily sacrifices they and their families make,” said Cecilia Ashe, Milford Chief of Police.  “Looking at this amazing building, I can’t think of a bigger sign of appreciation by the citizens of Milford.”

Milford voters approved the new police station in January of 2021 to replace the original one constructed in 1978, the City said in a press release Monday.

Overflow parking for the ribbon cutting ceremony and open houses will be available behind the newly constructed building, according to the city.
