SALISBURY, Md. – The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office Community Action Team (CAT) recently announced the arrest of 30-year-old Devonte Jamar Baine, of Salisbury, on drug and ammunition charges following an investigation.
Investigators say they believe Baine was distributing controlled dangerous substances from two Salisbury residences: one in the 1000 block of Tuscola Avenue and one in the 100 block of Second Street.
The CAT team and Salisbury Police Tactical Unit responded to both locations Oct. 12 to serve search and seizure warrants, according to a press release.
Deputies reportedly found Baine at the Tuscola Avenue house and a search revealed an undisclosed amount of cocaine on his person.
While searching both residences, police say they found 1.21 grams of crack cocaine, 28.4 grams of compressed powder cocaine, 1.52 grams of heroin, 19 oxycodone pills, four digital scales and some ammunition.
Baine is reportedly prohibited from possessing ammunition due to previous convictions.
Baine was charged with intent to distribute cocaine, heroin and oxycodone, plus related charges.
He was transported to the Wicomico County Detention Center before being released pending trial.
