LEWES, D.e - A tour of a historical warship is taking place in Cape Henlopen State Park.
The Debraak ship was built in 1781 by the Dutch, but was taken by the British in 1795.
The ship was caught in a huge storm on May 25, 1798, causing it to fill up with water rapidly and sink just off the coast of Delaware.
Today, artifacts and the hull of the ship are available for visitors to see on the Debraak tour. The tour lasts for about an hour.
Historical interpreter Laurie Conner says the hull of Debraak is the largest artifact owned by the state.
"It's also stored in an area that most people don't get to see," she says. "So we really wanted to get people a chance to come in and see it. You know, what's the use of having an artifact if nobody gets to know what it is?"
Tours are happening now through September, and will start back up around May of next year.
