Somerset County Public School Closure

SOMERSET CO., MD - Somerset County Public Schools have announced their closure for a virtual day tomorrow due to ongoing flooding and hazardous road conditions caused by last night’s storm.

According to a social media post by the County’s Public Schools, students will have an asynchronous virtual school day on Thursday, January 11th. Schools will be closed, but essential and 12 month staff are asked to report to their buildings by 8:30 a.m.

The closure announcement comes in the wake of a significant coastal storm that brought flooding and damaging winds to Delmarva Tuesday evening. Closures across the Peninsula will continue to be listed on WBOC’s website here.
