DELAWARE - Delaware’s Transit Corporation has announced the Delaware Authority for Regional Transit’s (DART) “Stuff the Bus” Thanksgiving Food Drive collected 21,000 pounds, or 10.5 tons, of food last week.
The Drive was held from November 6th to November 11th at locations across the state. Neighbors, businesses, schools, organizations, and state agencies donated nonperishable food for Delawareans in need of food assistance, the Transit Corporation said.
The 10.5 tons of food is donated to the nonprofit Food Bank of Delaware for distribution to those in need.
"Our annual Stuff The Bus food drive is another example of how DelDOT gives back to the communities we serve," said Secretary of Transportation Nicole Majeski. "We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this event a success to support the Food Bank of Delaware."
