Two Arrested for Mail Theft in Kent County

Mark Morris, 39, and Aaliyah Coleman, 29, were arrested Dec. 19 on felony theft charges stemming from a mail theft incident in Kent County. 

CAMDEN-WYOMING, DE– The Delaware State Police today announced the arrests of Mark Morris, 39, and Aaliyah Coleman, 29, on felony theft charges stemming from a mail theft incident in Kent County last night. 

Around 10:15 p.m. on Dec. 19, troopers responded to the area of Wood Duck Lane in Camden-Wyoming for reports of suspicious individuals in a white Chevrolet Tahoe checking mailboxes. 

Officers found the car on Hazletville Road and made contact with Morris, the driver; Coleman, a passenger; and a child. 

Police reportedly saw several mail envelopes and packages on the floorboard.

A search of the vehicle revealed more envelopes and packages marked with the name of victims living on Hazletville Road and in the Wild Quail Golf and Country Club community, according to a press release. 

Morris and Coleman were taken into custody without incident, arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on their own recognizance after being charged with the following crimes:

– Theft Less than $1,500 where Victim is Older than 62 Years of Age (Felony, x5)

– Second Degree Conspiracy (Felony)

– Theft Less than $1,500 (x4)

– Endangering the Welfare of a Child

Morris was also charged with traffic offenses.
