LINCOLN, DE– More than a dozen fire companies responded to a fire in Lincoln Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported in the 18000 block of Johnson Road shortly before 2 p.m. A large column of smoke was visible from the surrounding area.

Carlisle Fire Company crews were reportedly the first on scene, arriving to find two storage structures and two vehicles burning. The Fire Marshal says the flames then spread to a home on the property as additional crews and emergency medical services responded.

One firefighter was transported to a local hospital for non-critical injuries, according to a press release.

The American Red Cross is reportedly assisting the property owners.

Damage is estimated at $300,000.

On Wednesday, investigators say the fire started in an unattended burn barrel, which spread to a nearby storage building.
