SALISBURY, MD - The Salisbury Police Department continues to investigate a fatal Monday morning crash in Wicomico County that took the life of a 28-year-old woman.

Police say they were called to a crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of East Salisbury Parkway (Rt. 50) and Tilghman Road  on February 12th just after 5:30 a.m. Salisbury EMS was already on the scene, and police say they found a car had apparently collided with a scooter.

The occupant of the scooter, Christiana McDuffie, 28, of Salisbury was travelling south on Tilghman Road attempting to cross the intersection of Rt. 50, according to police. At the same time, police say a Subaru Outback was driving east and collided with the scooter.

McDuffie died at the scene according to first responders. The driver of the Subaru did not require medical attention.

The eastbound lanes of Rt. 50 from Tilghman Rd. to Autumn Grove Court were temporarily closed until just after 9 a.m. Monday morning as emergency responders cleared the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and police ask any witnesses to contact them at 410-548-3165.
