Ocean City public safety officials are urging people to start preparing now for a possible coastal winter storm expected to develop this weekend, with snow and strong wind among the main concerns.

The sand and boardwalk came alive Friday afternoon as thousands of people packed the beach for the start of the Oceans Calling Festival.
