Eastern Shore Lawmakers in Maryland are calling on Governor Wes Moore to veto a bill aimed at expanding solar energy.

The legislation would give the state the final say on solar projects, preventing local leaders from denying them. While supporters argue that Maryland is lagging behind in meeting its energy demands, opponents believe the bill undermines local authority.

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. -- County officials tell us they are being "big-footed" by the state of Maryland when it comes to solar energy. The county wants to be strict with where these large-scale projects can go, but local jurisdictions feel their voices are being silenced. 

The Maryland Public Service Commission announced an upcoming second public hearing for a Wicomico County solar facility proposed by Porter Mill, LLC.
