Reliably Democratic Colorado and Washington have ballot measures that would bar transgender girls from some sports competitions. Groups pushing the measures say it's not fair to have transgender girls competing. Opponents say the proposals are discriminatory and could add barriers for any girls who want to join teams. Both sides believe that if either passes, it could open the door to voters in other Democratic-controlled states being asked to implement bans. Measures are also on the ballot in Arizona and Nebraska to strengthen bans in those states.
