OCEAN CITY, Md. - Day 2 of the White Marlin drew 335 boats out to the water. The anglers are hoping to reel in a catch that lands them on the leader board.
Lines can't be in the water until 8:30 a.m., but all of the preparation starts before sunrise. Harbour Island was bustling Tuesday morning as participants got their boats ready and headed out to claim a good fishing spot.
"We want to get out there. We like to look around, see what we can find. How early were we yesterday? Probably an hour-and-a-half early," said angler Joe Link.
Link said he didn't have much luck yesterday.
"Slow for us. A lot of mahi. Today, we're hoping to find the right one," said Link.
Other anglers like Randy Bohlman are hoping the right ones keep coming in.
"We caught two white marlin and one 54.5 pound wahoo," said Bohlman.
Anglers are competing for their share of a record-setting $6.1 million in prize money.
Scales are open from 4 to 9:15 p.m.
