Today: Mostly sunny. A sea breeze storm can’t be ruled out today, but most will be dry. Highs: 82-88. Winds: NW-SE 5-20+ mph.
Tonight: Mostly clear to partly cloudy. Lows: 65-73. Winds: SE-S 5-10 mph.
Saturday: Partly to mostly sunny and becoming breezy. There could be a pop-up shower or storm, but the threat is not that great. Highs: 80-88. Winds: S-SW 5-20+ mph.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy and breezy. Lows: 68-75. Winds: SW 10-25+ mph.
Sunday: Partly to mostly sunny with a few scattered showers and storms possible in the late afternoon and evening hours. Windy. Highs: 84-90. Winds: SW 15-30+ mph.
Monday: Partly cloudy with the chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs: 82-88. Winds: SW 15-30+ mph.
After a refreshing start out the door this morning, things will become mostly sunny with temperatures into the 80s inland. The sea breeze will eventually be the main wind source this afternoon. Temperatures at the beach will climb quickly into the 80s before falling into the 70s this afternoon. As that breeze moves inland and reaches the places that climb well into the 80s…there will be lift occurring in the atmosphere. This will allow for a few clouds to start to bubble up the farther east you live and could spark up a stray shower or storm right along the coast. This isn’t a slam dunk chance and I think the majority of us will stay dry, but if you have plans at the beach today…I would keep an eye to the sky after 3pm this afternoon (if you have ever been to or lived in Florida in the summer, this will probably sound familiar).
Things start to change on Saturday as we start to see more and more humidity as the wind turns out of the southwest. With the humidity going up, it also won’t shock me with a pop-up shower or storm developing in the late afternoon hours on Saturday. Most of Saturday will be on the dry side with temperatures into the 80s and even some low 90s possible across parts of the area. At the beach, we should be in the 80s as the breeze will continue to pick up all day long with some gusts by the late afternoon between 25-30 mph.
We will be watching another front that will slowly begin to push toward Delmarva toward the end of the weekend that will start to spark off some showers and storms later in the day on Sunday. It’s not a widespread chance of storms, but it is enough of a chance that our chances for storms is up to about a 40% chance that someone on Delmarva will see a storm late in the day on Sunday. Temperatures on Sunday will be into the 80s for everyone as the wind will still be up with gusts over 30-35+ mph possible.
A better chance of widespread showers and storms arrives on Monday with the front getting here. These showers and storms will start to linger across Delmarva as we get into Tuesday and Wednesday which will keep things unsettled with on and off showers and storms possible on Tuesday with lingering early showers on Wednesday before the front starts to break down to allow things to dry out heading into Thursday and Friday.
