The front has arrived with some rain and some pretty good thunderstorms across parts of the area overnight and linger into the early morning hours. The front will slow down and stalls over the top of the area. This will keep us gray with on and off rain showers and thunderstorms for much of the day on Friday. Some of this rain could be moderate to heavy at times with some strong and gusty winds, lots of lightning, and very heavy rain. Here is the good news: things will improve much faster with this system as the atmosphere will be moving a bit better. We should start to dry things out Friday evening and Friday night leads to a quiet start to our Saturday morning.
The weekend forecast looks amazing for the mom’s! It will be a bit on the cooler side in the morning hours of Saturday as we wake up in the 40s and some of our coolest communities could fall to the upper 30s with a brisk wind out of the north and northwest that will continue into the day. Temperatures on Saturday will reach the 60s and low 70s for highs…just a smidge cooler then where we would like them at this point in May. Sunday the wind start to turn a bit more out of the east and southeast and will allow for a little bit of a warm up inland with highs well into the 70s. It will be cooler at the beach with highs in the 60s.
We stay dry for Monday as we warm on a south to southwest wind into the 70s and some low 80s with a mix of sun and clouds. This is ahead of a front that will swing across the region with chances for showers and storms by late in the day on Tuesday into Wednesday. Big time warmer air arrives for later in the week with highs in the 80s for Thursday and Friday.
A way too early look for Boardwalk Rock shows a chance of showers and storms late in the day on Saturday with highs into the 80s. A wind shift back off the Atlantic will knock temperatures into the 60s on Sunday at the beach with a mostly sunny day.
