GEORGETOWN, Del. - Road work is expected to begin this week in order to replace a crossroad pipe in Georgetown, Del.
Delaware's Department of Transportation says starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Avalon Road between Lawson Road and Johnson Road in Georgetown will be closed.
Construction is expected to wrap up on Friday, around 3 p.m. Once the pipe is replaced the road will reopen.
Crossroad pipe replacements are replacements of old deteriorated pipes that carry water from one side of the road to the other. DelDOT replaces them with either reinforced concrete pipes or plastic pipes.
