SALISBURY, Md.- A mechanical failure in a car's engine compartment is suspected of igniting a fire that destroyed a pole building in Salisbury on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's office, the fire was reported just before 2 p.m. at 30430 Zion Road in a building with a car parked inside.
The Salisbury Fire Department responded and got the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
Investigators ruled the fire accidental and determined a mechanical failure in the engine sparked the blaze.
Damage to the 12-foot by 24-foot structure and its contents is estimated to be $25,000. There were no reported injuries.
