DOVER, Del.- The U.S. Department of Labor sponsors a program called Jobs Corps, and it has made its way to Dover. It opened just a couple of months ago but recently had its official ribbon cutting ceremony.

The Jobs Corps is part of Delaware Admissions and Career Services. Students who struggle in high school or who have dropped out of high school can enroll in the program. They will have the opportunity to travel for training in a field and work toward their GED.

When the students come back, career specialists in centers like Dover Jobs Corps will place them in a local job.

"You can really change someone's like," said Tony Hall, career transition specialist. "[Some of these kids] come from hard backgrounds, and you're giving them another opportunity to make something of themselves."
