CAROLINE COUNTY, Md.- Authorities are investigating a single car crash in Preston that put a man in the hospital.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office said the crash happened at around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday on the 3200 block of Back Landing Road when a Toyota SUV was found by a nearby driver who reported the SUV had crashed.
It took five firefighters 15 minutes to take out the fire. Fire officials report the cause may have been intentional. The driver of the car, Jason A. Kopp, was transported to Bayview Burn Center for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal, with the assistance of the Preston Voluntary Fire Department and Caroline County Sheriff's Office.
