DOVER, Del.- The Dover Fire Department spent early Sunday morning responding to a vacant house fire.
The Dover Fire Department says around 4:15 a.m., Dover police officers came upon a vacant house on fire on Martin Street. The officers alerted the fire department, who said fire was found on the second floor. Firefighters say the house was entirely boarded up except for one window on the side.
Dover firefighters say they were able to keep the fire to the second floor, although a roof partially collapsed. In addition to the Dover Fire Department, the Little Creek and Camden-Wyoming volunteer fire companies responded, as well as members of the Kent County Department of Public Safety.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
