CAMBRIDGE, Md. – The Cambridge Police Department Yesterday announced the arrest of 59-year-old Thomas Lynn Fleetwood, of Salisbury, following a burglary earlier this month. 

Around 9 a.m. on Sept. 15, officers responded to Best Wine and Spirits in the 2800 block of Ocean Gateway, where cigarettes and alcohol were reported stolen.

Police say a witness explained they had seen Fleetwood with a large quantity of cigarettes and alcohol, which officers found scattered in a grassy area next to a parking lot. Best Wine and Spirits employees reportedly identified Fleetwood as the suspect in security footage.

Prior to the burglary, Cambridge Police say they responded to a trespassing incident at the nearby Cambridge Inn, where they saw Fleetwood in possession of numerous unopened packs of cigarettes. 

Police say the stolen items were valued at $4,763, with $216.42 worth being destroyed. 

Officers were able to find Fleetwood and place him under arrest before turning him over to the Dorchester County Department of Corrections on no bond, charged with the following crimes:

  • Burglary Second Degree

  • Burglary Third Degree

  • Burglary Fourth Degree

  • Burglary Theft Fourth Degree

  • Theft Over $1,500 and Under $25,000

  • Concealing Evidence Knowing It May Be Used in Future Court Proceedings

  • Obstructing and Hindering
