Ronald Suber, Jr.

DOVER, DE - The Delaware Department of Justice announced the sentencing of a Dover man for a murder he committed in August of 2021.

In 2021, Ronald Suber, Tori Balfour, Anna Hurst, and Brian May were running a catalytic converter theft ring, according to the Department of Justice. Suber began to believe that Hurst was providing information to police, the DOJ says, and on August 20th, 2021, Suber and Balfour brought Hurst and May to a field next to Dyke Branch Road.

The DOJ says Suber and Balfour then confronted Hurst, accusing her of being a “narc.” Hurst attempted to back away, and Suber shot her in the hand and chest as she pleaded for her life, according to the Department. May then fled and Suber shot him in the foot as he ran.

Prosecutors say Suber then returned to Hurst in the field and beat her to death with a tire iron.

Suber, now 32, was convicted of Murder 1st Degree, Attempted Murder 1st Degree, two counts of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Tampering with a Witness. Suber was sentenced in October to life plus 70 years in prison.
