Kirk was a prominent and divisive republican media personality and ally of President Donald Trump. He was shot and killed at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10. Many local Delmarva leaders have made public statements after Kirk's death.

Kirk was known for going to college campuses and debating polarizing topics with event attendees. He was a divisive public figure, often making controversial statements that would then go viral online. He was assassinated while talking about being against gun control in the U.S.
