WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. -- Fireworks will be a staple of celebrations on July 4th, but they will also be a cause for concern in many counties. Our very dry conditions have lead to emergency burn bans all over Delmarva.
The Bethany Beach Police Department is putting preventative measures in place to ensure safety and order ahead of July 4th celebrations. This comes after a group of 300+ teenagers created chaos on the town’s beach and boardwalk last year.
Due to beach replenishment the town of Bethany Beach announced that the Fourth of July fireworks are postponed.

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is reminding that the public that most consumer fireworks are illegal to possess and use in the state.
Maryland travelers are expected to be very busy for the Independence Day holiday weekend. AAA is projecting that over 977,400 Marylanders will travel 50 miles or more over the holiday period, which includes June 30-July 4.
Due to lingering beach impacts from the Mother’s Day weekend nor’easter, the City Rehoboth Beach’s July 3 fireworks display will be launched on the beach between Philadelphia and Hickman streets, which is slightly farther south than the normal Brooklyn Avenue location.
