Flo Rida is set to perform at the Wicomico Civic Center on Friday, April 3.

UPDATE: Delmarva Power says their crews continue to make progress restoring power after widespread damage and outages after Sunday's winter storm. 

Wicomico County officials say a warming center is now open at the Wicomico Civic Center's Midway Room due to power outages that are affecting thousands in the area. The Civic Center is located at 500 Glen Avenue in Salisbury.

Wicomico County officials announced that the emergency shelter opened ahead of this winter storm at James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury is now closed due to low attendance.

The Wicomico Civic Center will host two weekends of events later this month, with the Lone Star Rodeo set for Jan. 23–24 and Monsters of Metal: Blizzard Bash scheduled for Jan. 30–31.

Every year, teams from across the country gather in Salisbury for the Governors Challenge basketball tournament. This year, 130 teams came together for the big event.

County officials say the Glen Avenue entrance to the Wicomico Civic Center parking lot will close Wednesday, Oct. 15, as part of ongoing renovation work at the venue.

Law enforcement officials from Maryland and Delaware gathered at the second annual 'Law Enforcement Leaders of Delmarva Forum'  Wednesday to discuss public safety issues. 

Significant changes and upgrades are planned for the Wicomico Civic Center with $9.8 million in renovations slated to begin in January.
