A backyard could soon become another housing option for families in Salisbury as the city considers allowing accessory dwelling units, or ADUs, on residential properties.

The Maryland Legislature adopted HB 1466 that establishes a statewide policy to encourage the development of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) in order to expand housing opportunities throughout the state.

Five dogs rescued from a Salisbury property are now getting a fresh start at Baywater Animal Rescue in Cambridge.

WBOC reported eighteen dogs were recovered last week following an animal welfare investigation. The Humane Society of Wicomico County said many of the animals were in poor physical health and were found in troubling conditions.
