Nylon Capital Center

SEAFORD, DE - A groundbreaking event is now slated for the Nylon Capital Center in Seaford this month.

According to project developers Ninth Street Development Co., groundbreaking for the new center is planned for Thursday, April 25th. A groundbreaking event is set for 10 a.m. until noon.

Formerly called the Nylon Capital Shopping Center, the site’s redevelopment into an over-218,000 square foot center offering a mix of business and recreational space is hoped to rejuvenate a once bustling center in Sussex County.

Seaford Councilman Matt MacCoy previously told WBOC’s Jack Ford the $60 million project will be a visionary hub for the future of the county. In a Facebook post, MacCoy says he “can’t wait for this project to have a generational impact on Seaford and Sussex County”.

Delaware Technical Community College and TidalHealth have already confirmed they will be tenants in the new center. Plans also include a revitalized bowling alley, a Social Hall, and beer garden.

In March, developer Robert Herrera said the revitalization of the center is expected to take 2 years.
